Built prior to World War I for the Thompson’s Restaurant chain, the Thompson Building had a white terra cotta façade to emphasize that their kitchen was as clean as your kitchen at home. A major program element was to bring activity into an adjacent city park. Selzer Associates restored this landmark Dallas building with added dining balconies and terraces spilling out into Pegasus Plaza. The City of Dallas participated in the restoration by providing TIF funds to offset the cost of returning the building to its 1915 appearance. New restaurant tenants have returned the Thompson Building to its original use.
